This Privacy Policy applies to the BitesReads family of mobile applications, including Horror Reads, Crime Reads, Romance Reads, and Poetry Reads (collectively, the “Apps”), published by Ye Yuan (operating as BitesReads) (“we”, “us”, or “our”). We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information the Apps handle and how.
We do not require you to create an account, and we do not collect personal information such as your name, email address, phone number, or precise location through the Apps.
The Apps store your reading progress and preferences (such as the last chapter read, unlocked books, and light/dark mode) locally on your device only. This data is not transmitted to us and is removed when you uninstall the App.
The Apps display advertisements provided by Google AdMob, a service of Google LLC. To serve ads, Google and its partners may collect and use certain information, including your device’s advertising identifier, IP address, and general usage data, in order to provide and personalize ads and measure their performance.
We do not control the data collected by Google. Please review Google’s policies for details on how this data is handled:
You can opt out of personalized advertising in your device settings under
Settings → Google → Ads, or reset your advertising identifier.
The Apps may offer optional in-app purchases (for example, to unlock all books or remove ads), processed by Google Play Billing. Payment information is handled entirely by Google; we do not receive or store your payment details.
The literary works in the Apps are sourced from Project Gutenberg and are in the public domain.
The Apps are not directed to children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Some Apps may contain content (such as horror or crime themes) intended for a general or mature audience.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last updated” date.
